4 September 1952
Australian Outback, Great Victoria Desert

On the morning of 4 September an IAAC Wollybanger (modified RL-45) fired upon and presumably shot down a Nazi flying disc over a heavily fortified sector of Outback Station 3. It was observed to explode into a "ball of blue fire" when it exploded 100 to 200 feet above the deck. No shred of usable debris was ever recovered. The only damage done is evident in the photo: incinerated plant life serving as natural camouflage over a series of munitions bunkers.

A series of five photographs were snapped of the disc approximately thirty seconds before it went down. The most telling photo is shown below: thick black smoke pouring from one of two exhaust vents. This is the same make of disc seen over Islamorada in 1943, San Jacinto Davy Crockett National Park in 1945, and is most probably the same type of craft recovered off Fiji in 1963.
